THE SYMBOLOGY/TYPOLOGY OF THE
MISHKAN-TABERNACLE/SANCTUARY.

Exodus 25:8-37; 26:1-37;
Hebrews 8:1-13; 9:1-28; 10:1-39; 13:10-16

Many people today are interested in the Biblical and historical records of one of the most unique and beautiful edifices ever to exist on the earth. The symmetry, geometric size and architectural perfection of the courts, the altars and furniture are still fascinating after 33 centuries. The main sanctuary and the adjoining Kodosh Ha Kodshim, i.e. Holy of Holies speaks to humanity of a representative "HEAVEN ON EARTH" - an ultimate meeting room for the Anointed servant to present all of our shortcomings and to receive the loving forgiveness of our Father. We pray in both Jewish and Christian tradition:

"AVINU SHE B’SHEMAYIM," "OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN."

The ongoing theme presented here, as we examine both the physical symbols and their Spiritual meaning, will show how the two "faiths" are heading toward the same common cause. Of course, we will need to examine some other points of interest. Cultural origins from Mideastern neighbors of Israel will be important as we compare Royal vestments and priesthood, Babylonian traditions and the Hebrew cultural heritage. Egypt, until the Exodus, is a case in point. The Pharonic grandeur must have been reflected in the tradition of special woods overlaid with gold, copper and the use of pure gold and silver. We will look at the fine linen, cotton wool, and its meaning in fences, veils, and garments.

The Israelites were educated by the newly given Torah with its precise directions given through Moshe - but - BY the Creator.

We will examine sacrifice victims, how they were brought and prepared - what happened then? How were the "victims" presented on behalf of the penitents - by the anointed priests? The intricate construction of the portable Temple will be described in detail along with the service, rituals, experiences of the people, the presence of God in the Glory Cloud (SHEKINA) and His awesome presence and acts.

The other very important aspect will be the absolute imperative to find the obvious and sometimes not-so-obvious, but definitely present, Biblical Jewish cultural and inevitable anti-typical truths. "Anti-typical" means that revelatory prophetic symbols have now become a reality - and can, therefore, be more than mystery or mystical - but can translate into personal relationship. God has indeed used these "SYMBOLIC" portraits and sketches. Now we can have assurance, not just HOPE of Redemption and pardon. We can’t possibly do enough MITZVAHS/COMMANDMENTS (MODERN GOOD WORKS) to please God.

We will see constantly how the ultimate physical presence has now become manifest in His ULTIMATE MITZVAH - good work. Not gold on wood, but an eternal spirit/soul clothed with a mantle of flesh. An ultimate atonement sacrifice AND RESURRECTION. THIS MESSIAH CAN SUPERNATURALLY BRING "OLAM HABA" I.E. "THE KINGDOM TO COME."
