JEWISH FEASTS/FESTIVALS AND CHRISTIANS | HOW TO IDENTIFY/RECOGNIZE A FALSE PROPHET
JUDAISERS | 1st MONTH vs. 7th MONTH

Dear Faithful Friends,

This newsletter will be the last and only time that we will explain the reasons for our hurts and discouragements regarding PTCB’s actions. We promise, after this, only teaching with "good cheer" once again. We pray that it will also be the last time we will have to spend all our efforts un-confusing the confusion being propagated on TV. So many are suffering from these unstable concepts and unsound doctrines on PTCB. Please grant us this favor and pray for our effort. Thanks!

Some of your inquires regarding our possible move to Brownsville have been very comforting. We are encouraged by the fact that you have kept your interest even though we are not "media-visible." So many seem to be interested in a spurious way. Remember, we gave up our whole life, all of our Florida seminars, support, etc. to come to Texas on Al and Tommie Cooper’s constant invitations.

So, this letter will, in the teaching section, discuss the upcoming "Yomim-Noraim," that is the Days of Awe. These are the biblically based High Holy Days, 10 days of introspection, that is self-examination, making T’shuvah or repentance – forgiving those who sin against us – then receiving God’s forgiveness. Matt. 5:23.

For those still interested in our statement of the anticipated move to Brownsville, TX, we will have to be patient and wait for God’s direction and timing. In the meantime, several pastors and Christians have approached us to ask for help to un-confuse local church members from the legalist misinformation which has been taught regarding "Jewish (?)" customs, traditions, "Sabbaths and feast days." We are considering holding seminars (inter-church and inter-faith) across the states of Texas and New Mexico. A television platform to present this would be ideal. We won’t be able to travel such distances for individual fellowships or congregations, but if several groups express their interest with pastors/leaders sanctions, we are willing to come. Our information will be biblical and will clarify true tradition.

I am both Biblically competent and Jewish so the information will not be pseudo/made-up as so much is being done today. Question and answer periods will be a major part of the seminars. Please notify your pastors/leaders and churches, as we will need sponsors to advertise this. We will prepare letters to be sent to them so we can plan circuits to cover as much area, as well planned economically as possible.

Presently, our finances are minimal. Someone will surely hear from the Lord, then we will be able to go! Please pray that we will not be so financially limited, but ABLE to act. So many are zealous at first but it seems that after the novelty wears off, ostracism becomes the norm for them. "Out of sight, out of mind (?)" It’s good that our Savior doesn’t "grow weary of (consistent) well-doing." Gal. 6:9; II Thes. 3:13.

We often need to be reminded that God cannot share His Glory with our human pride. I Cor. 1:29; 3:31 and especially I Cor. 4:7; 9:16; 10:31.

Before the teaching section, allow me "this venting of feelings." A great error has occurred. The Kingdom of Heaven is not based on human status and pride. It is not the rich church patronizing the poor or Third World. Believe it or not, we are all to stand equal – King and pauper, rich and poor, the well-heeled/fed and the poorest of the poor on Judgement Day (the final Yom Ha Din). We need only to read the news report of the Messiah of Lazarus and the beggar. Luke 16:19-31. (This is a precursor.) Even the dogs had more compassion than the rich man and showed affection for the beggar. You may also notice that there is a great gulf between them in eternity, different from the earthly status. Mark 12:43-44 & Luke 21:1-4.

JEWISH FEASTS/FESTIVALS AND CHRISTIANS

So – what does all of this have to do with keeping Holy Days? Very much! As I write this, I’m watching a dialogue on the local Christian station. The discussion is about whether Christians should keep the Feasts of Israel. Joe Good says they must be kept perpetually by the Christians. But, scripture emphasis is very clear that these instituted festivals and laws were emphatically given in perpetuity to Israel as a Nation to picture the coming time of grace after Messiah has fulfilled all of these types and shadows. Heb. 8:5 Note: pattern = type. Let us not be confused, scripture clarifies these things to us. Acts15:19 – the first counsel of Believers "My sentence/decision is that we trouble not them which among the Gentiles have turned to God." The word ‘turned’ in the Old Testament is ‘shuv’ now called ‘T’shuvah’ by the Rabbis meaning ‘repentant, turning or return’ (to God). Verse 20 - Four of the Noahide Laws are mentioned (this is for all nations). Verse 21 - Moses gave the Torah for Israel prior to Messiah’s coming. See Jn 1:17=Law given by Moses, BUT grace and truth come by Yeshua Messiah/Jesus Christ.

HOW TO IDENTIFY/RECOGNIZE A FALSE PROPHET

Another thing being discussed on this same program is the time of the coming/return of Jesus/Yeshua. Joe Good had forecast on this program in 1998 Yeshua would absolutely return on Rosh Hashanah of that year. Now he is hinting again that it should happen this Rosh Hashanah. This goes contrary to all Jewish and Christian tradition, both of which discourage setting of days or dates for Messiah’s coming/return. Jewish tradition says He could come on this or any other festive day. The New Testament says, "….at a time you think not." In fact, both traditions count this speculating of dates as heresy.

During Old Testament times false prophets were not excused. It was severe punishment! Suffice it to say, THEY WOULD NEVER GIVE ANOTHER FALSE PROPHECY. Read for your own understanding six things God hates – Prov. 6:16-19. False prophecy – Ex.23:1,7,9; not to raise a false report – Prov. 12:17; 14:5; 19:5,9; II Tim. 3:3; especially II Peter 2:1 and I Jn. 4:1; Rev. 16:3. If words of "prophecy" do not come to pass – NOT God’s Word! Deut. 18:19-22.

James 1:8 "A double minded man/woman is unstable in all their ways." For some more insights there is excellent information at www.geocities.com/heartland/flats/7746/hatikva.htm. Check also with Matthew Van Hook’s messsage board to ascertain for yourself if the lifestyles of those on tv "ministries" are in keeping with scripture. Should people be in the place of authority in the ministry if their lifestyle is not in keeping with the morals of the Bible?

JUDAISERS

You should seriously read Acts 15:5-10 about Pharisaical Jewish believers who were Judaisers. Why now, Gentile Judaisers? As a Jewish person/believer I see these things to be so confusing to our people. You as Christians need to understand how these things point from Moses’ Torah/Law/GK Nomos until grace (until that which is perfect is come...I Cor. 13:10).

Jews and Gentiles don’t need to be involved in pseudo Jewishness e.g. those who are professing to keep kosher but who know nothing about kosher. Messiah makes us kosher by God’s work on Calvary, not by our works should anyone boast, causing pride! See Romans 3:27; 4:2 & 6-7; 9:11 & 32; 11:16. As for the kosher question. The kingdom of God is not food or drink but we are to made kasher (Heb)/acceptable by God’s work in Messiah. ROM. 14:17.

1st MONTH vs. 7th MONTH

Passover began as the first month Nissan called the first Rosh Hashanah for Israel – Exodus 12:2. Some Hebrew relative words in Exodus 12:2 ROSH Chodshim = the first/head of months (not the seventh month, this is Babylonian.) Another term is Le Chadash = among the months. Another word is HASHANA = year. So if you put these Hebrew words together, Rosh and Hashanah are Passover! Biblically that is the 10th day of Nissan. The minor emphasis on the "agriculture new years" were planting and reaping festivals which came later than the Passover exodus which was obviously the beginning of the biblical new year.

Now after our people had been captive in Babylon/Persia, they recorded as in the Talmud that the seventh month Tishrei has become called according to the Babylonian tradition, the New Year. Passover began as the first month, that is the true Rosh Hashanah for Israel. Now let’s look at the seventh month, Tishrei. A Sabbath memorial blowing of the Shofar/trumpet. Remember the seventh month, Tishrei, since the Babylonian captivity been called the New Year. This may surprise you, but the seventh month of Hebrew months corresponds with the first Babylonian month, a time of worshiping Marduke and Ishtar. It is now recorded and it is called the Babylonian Talmud – biblically the day is called Yom T’Ruah, Day of Blowing of Trumpets or Feast of Trumpets. Lev. 23:24; Numbers 29:1.

Correct is the Jewish tradition of the beginning of 10 days towards Yom Kippur that is the Day of Atonement. (The previous 30 days (which we are now ending) of introspection is Rabbinical but the biblical Hebrew gives hints of this concept.) Correct also, however, is the (true) Jewish concept that we don’t retain/keep "social status" on Judgement Day as it is traditionally and symbolically celebrated from "Rosh Hashanah" i.e. the biblical Yom T’ruah actually the Feast of Trumpets through 10 days thru Yom(im) Kippur (im) or Day(s) of Atonement(s). Hebrew 9:3 makes it very clear that Messiah Yeshua/Jesus Christ has indeed fulfilled this ultimate AT-ONE-MENT on our behalf. Also made very clear is the fact that the second veil is to the way into the Holiest of all i.e. Holy of Holies. He has completed our redemption as High Priest.

Hebrews 9:6 distinguishes the first section of the Holy Place/sanctuary or building as the place of the ministry of the priests; but not beyond the PAROKHET or inner veil! Verse 7 again how the Messiah/Savior as High Priest only could enter the second veil once and for all. Not just on a yearly basis, but for eternal salvation. Read verse 10 regarding the differences between Law and Grace. Grace is based on HIS ENTERING IN (for us) so not by works, Romans 3:27; 4:6-7.

Hebrews 10:19-20. We can enter into the Holiest of Holies with Jesus if we enter boldly by His blood. Not that of animals, Psalms 69:31-32, but through the veil i.e. HIS FLESH (body broken/torn for us = Grace!!) not legalistically! We are not insisting on anti-Nomiasm that is anti-Torah because God’s Torah is relevant (love). Neh. 9:25; Jer. 2:8; Lam. 2:9; Matt. 5:17; 7:12; 22: 39-40. This is just an introduction of what needs to be reclarified to the viewing audience. Please! If you think that liberal compromise will cause any heresy to "just go away" – it wouldn’t. Read Ezek. 22:27; Matt. 7:15; Acts 20:29, especially see Jude 3. It will be worth your while.

Pray for us. We need to do this with love. Matt. 7:12; 22: 39-40.

Please remember we are to provoke Israel to jealousy not just to provoke my Jewish people to anger or indignation. Deut. 32:21; Rom. 10:19; 11:11. The Lord knows that there is enough offence in the LEGITIMATE preaching of the Good News for the Jewish people. Gal. 5:11; Isa. 8:14 compare with 1 Peter 2:8.

In Yeshua (Jesus’) Love,

Dr. Mike Moshe & Gina Nangle
